Middle School Basketball Coaches
Experienced Basketball Coaches are needed for all 10 teams
Coaches from last season will be given priority over new coaches
All Middle School Coaches will be on a volunteer basis this season
Each School will have two teams:
Junior Varsity Team
Varsity Team
Each team will have it's own head coach and if available, an assistant coach

All coaches will be subject to a background check
Coaches will be required to attend a coaches meeting Saturday August 24th at 4pm at the Boys and Girls Club in Warrenton, VA.
Practices:
Practices are held on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for both teams.
With two teams per school, there will be some sharing of court space.
Games:
Each school will play every school twice, once at home, once away.
Parents will be responsible for getting players to away games.
Junior Varsity teams plays first and Varsity plays immediately afterwards.
Our goal, if gym space and time allows, we will hold championship games at the end of the season
The top two JV teams will play and the top two Varsity teams will play.
Coach Responsibilities:
Attend Coaches meeting.
Hold tryouts.
Email team roster to
gleason@wysc.org at the end of tryouts.
Collect Medical Release forms, Code of Conduct form, registration payment and turn into Middle School Coordinator from WYSC.
Hold Practices.
Be a positive role model.
Provide four adult volunteers per game:
organize/supervise away game transportation
making sure each player leaves with a parent/approved adult
collection of any paperwork needed
Gym Supervisor
to make sure spectators/coaches/refs/players maintain good sportsmanship during the games
to help settle disputes
keep the game atmosphere positive
Clock Keeper
a responsible parent/adult who can attend every game to keep the game clock for the entire duration of the game
if unable to make a game, finding an adult to substitute for you
can be several parents that take turns throughout the season
stops clock for time outs, quarter ends, and dead ball calls by the ref.

Score Book Keeper

Winning Coach must report the score on this website to keep the standings current.
Score needs to be reported within 24 hours.
Collection of all jerseys at end of season.
Hold end of season celebration.
