What is the mission of the Warrenton Youth Soccer Club? The founders of WYSC created the league as a place where children of all ages and abilities could learn about sports while having fun. The emphasis is on learning, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Recreational Volleyball Tournament Rules

 

ALL regular season game rules will apply for the tournament.  The rules can be found on the website for your review.  Tournament rules regarding tie breakers are listed below along with a few of the key game rules.

 

Tournament Rules

Each team will play two games.  Teams will randomly be chosen to play each other; it is not based on season standings.

Each team will be awarded a point per win per set. Example; if team A wins in first two sets they will be awarded 2 points and team B will have 0 points.  If team A wins first set, loses second set, and wins third set, team A will receive 2 points and team B will receive 1 point. 

            Pool Tie Breakers in order of importance:

  1. Head to head points per set
  2. Head to head game results (number of wins vs number of loses)
  3. Point differential for entire pool schedule (# of points by which you won minus the number of points by which you lost)
  4. The tied teams will play 1 game to 15 points, rally scoring, win by 2 with the winner advancing

Games

  • A team must win by two (2) points, and there is no cap.
  • The first team to win two sets wins the match.
  • Each team is permitted two one-minute time outs during games.

 

Service

  • If a player serves five (5) consecutive times and awards their teams five points the server must change their serving technique (for example: under-hand server changes to over-hand serves, over-hand server changes to under-hand serves or jump serve)
  • The receiving team can NOT attack the ball on a serve (i.e. spike or block)..
  • U11 teams may serve 3 feet in the court from the service line.
  • Net serves are allowed

 

Substitutions

  • There are NO substitutions, All players will rotate in equally during a service rotation.
